Who I am

Nest is a bespoke fitted furniture business run by Mark Anthony Evans, operating as a sole trader based in Cascais, Portugal, and trading as "Nest" (Nest Fitted Furniture). For the purposes of data protection law, I am the data controller responsible for your personal data.

What data I collect

I only collect the information you choose to give me when you get in touch. Depending on how you contact me, that may include:

• Contact form: your name, email address, location and the details of your project or message.
• Booking a consultation: if you book a call, your name, email address and chosen time are collected through Calendly.
• Email, phone or WhatsApp: if you contact me directly, I receive whatever information you include in your message, such as your name and contact details.

I do not use any advertising or analytics tracking on this website, and I do not collect data about you in the background as you browse.

How I use your data

I use your information only to:

• respond to your enquiry and answer your questions;
• arrange and hold consultations;
• prepare designs and quotations; and
• carry out and manage any project you go ahead with.

The legal basis for this is either your consent, my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about my services, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your data or share it for marketing. I do use a small number of trusted service providers to run the website and my business, who process data on my behalf:

• Formspree — delivers messages sent through the contact form (privacy policy).
• Calendly — handles consultation bookings (privacy policy).
• WhatsApp / Meta — if you choose to message me on WhatsApp (privacy policy).

Some of these providers are based outside the EU, including in the United States. Where that is the case, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only for as long as I need it to deal with your enquiry and, if we work together, to manage your project and meet any legal or tax obligations. After that, it is deleted.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• access the personal data I hold about you;
• ask me to correct anything that is inaccurate;
• ask me to delete your data;
• object to or restrict how I use it; and
• request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, just email me at hello@fittedbynest.com. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Security

I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe and to work only with reputable providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but I treat your data with care and only keep what I need.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
